Kimbe Catholic Diocese: Nurses from 11 health centres under Kimbe Catholic Church Health Services gathered at Manaia Guest House for a week-long training on Emergency Obstetric Care and Essential Neonatal Care.

This initiative, organized by Kimbe Catholic Church Health Services (CCHS), aimed to upskill staff in basic emergency care. It was conducted in partnership with the West New Britain Provincial Health Authority (WNBPHA), approved by the National Catholic Church Health Services (NCCHS), and funded by Caritas Australia.

Three midwife Training of Trainers (TOT) facilitators: Sr. Tabagua, Sr. Thomas, and Sr. Ariki, led the training, focusing on life-saving skills related to pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum complications.

Participants shared experiences, discussed challenges such as geographical barriers and lack of supplies, and learned essential skills to manage complications in rural health facilities.

Certificates were awarded at the end of the training, presented by representatives from National CCHS and the West New Britain Provincial Health Authority (WNBPHA).
