Franciscan Sisters make Final Promises
Feast of the presentation of the Lord, two Franciscan Sisters of Mary (FSM) made their religious final promises at Mother of Divine Shepherd Cathedral Parish, Kumin, Mendi, Southern Highland Province.
Sr Clare Kamapun and Sr Rose Akem, both from Wabag diocese, Enga province.
Family members, relatives, friends, priests, religious, Deacon and the seminarians from Diocese of Mendi, Wabag and Mt Hagen gathered together for the events.
Celebration began with simple profession of two sister.
Bishop Donald Lippert OFM Cap presided the mass.
The superior, Sr Maria Tiki received the two sisters as they laid their hands on the round stone while pronouncing the vows of Poverty, Chastity and Obedience. After the vows, two sisters, their superior, Bishop Donald, and family representatives signed the profession documents as a token that these young women became full member of new FSM family.
It was a joyful, emotional ceremony as many shed tears of joy and gratitude. More than 200 came together to celebrate and witness the joyful occasion.
