Final Delegation Departs for Blessed Peter ToRot’s Canonization

The final group from the Catholic Bishops Conference of Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands departed Port Moresby this afternoon for Rome to attend the canonization of Blessed Peter ToRot this coming Sunday on the 19th of October.

Among those traveling today are His Eminence Sir John Cardinal Ribat, MSC, Archbishop of Port Moresby, Bp. Otto Separy, President of CBCPNGSI, Abp. Rochus Tatamai, MSC, of Rabaul Archdiocese, Abp. Anton Bal of Madang Archdiocese , Bp. Paul Sundu of Kundiawa Diocese, Bp. Justin Ain Soongie of Wabag Diocese, Bp. Dariusz Kaluza of Bougainville Diocese, Bp. Jacek Tendej of Alotau Diocese, Bp. Peter Houhou of Gizo Diocese, Fr. Jeffery Puritau, Administrator of Auki Diocese, Fr. Lawrence Arockiaraj, General Secretary of CBCPNGSI and Jimmy Son CBC Business Manager.
They are joined by members of Blessed Peter ToRot’s family and other pilgrims. In total, more than 170 faithful from Papua New Guinea are making this historic journey to witness the canonization of the nation’s first native martyr at the Vatican.
