On June 6th, 2026, a significant and heartfelt celebration took place at the MSI Sisters Provincial House in Boroko, Port Moresby. The event marks the Golden and Silver Jubilees of four devoted missionary sisters, honoring their years of selfless service and commitment to their faith and community. This occasion was not only a milestone in their spiritual journey but also an opportunity for the wider community to join in gratitude and joy.

The term “Jubilee” in this context refers to the special anniversaries marking 25 and 50 years of religious service. A Golden Jubilee represents 50 years, a remarkable length of dedication and perseverance, while a Silver Jubilee marks 25 years, reflecting a quarter-century of faithful mission work.
The sisters being celebrated are Sr. Marilena Kizhakekara, who is honoring her Golden Jubilee, and Sr. Rozangela Nunes dos Santos, Sr. Anju Joseph, and Sr. Rosemary Arulandu, each commemorating their Silver Jubilees. Their journey as missionary sisters of the Immaculate has been marked by devotion, humility, and a deep commitment to uplifting the lives of those they serve.
The celebration was be graced by a Thanksgiving Eucharist, presided over by Rev. Fr. Lawrence Arokiaraj, Secretary General of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands. This solemn Mass offered thanks for the sisters' unwavering dedication and the fruits of their mission work.

This event was a profound reminder of the enduring spirit of faith and service embodied by these women. It was a call to appreciate the sacrifices made by religious workers worldwide and to reflect on the vital role they play in fostering compassion and community. The jubilee celebration was a memorable occasion, one that honored a legacy of love and spiritual commitment with joy and reverence.
