Religious Gather for Canon Law Formation in Port Moresby

The Canon Law & Religious Life formation workshop for religious in PNG and the Solomon Islands commenced yesterday in Port Moresby.


Organized by Catherine McAuley Services Limited, the 2-day workshop brings together religious from across the region for ongoing formation and dialogue on Church law and its application to religious life.


Facilitating the sessions is Fr. Bruno Amanos Pokule, Catholic priest, canon lawyer, lecturer at the Catholic Theological Institute, Bomana, and Judicial Vicar of the Diocese of Aitape.


Over the next two days, participants are engaging on topics including Temporal Goods, Communal vs Personal Properties in religious life, different types of abuses, and the Church’s response and penalties regarding the protection of minors.


Following the Port Moresby session, the same formation will continue in Mt. Hagen on June 4th & 5th at SVD Rabiamul, and Wewak on June 8th & 9th at Wirui Holy Spirit House.
