Catholic Bishops Conference Appoints Working Committee for Canonization of Blessed Peter To Rot

Port Moresby — The Catholic Bishops Conference (CBC) of Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands has officially announced the appointment of a Working Committee to coordinate the upcoming pilgrimage to Rome for the canonization of Blessed Peter To Rot. The canonization will mark a significant milestone for the local Church and will be followed by celebrations in the Archdiocese of Rabaul from December 11 to December 14, 2025.

The committee has been entrusted with the responsibility of organizing and overseeing all logistical, pastoral, and spiritual preparations for the event. Their duties include managing travel arrangements, liaising with the Vatican, coordinating communications, and ensuring a meaningful participation of the faithful from PNG and Solomon Islands in this historic moment.
