A large number of faithful gathered for the celebration, with many arriving as early as 7:00 a.m. in anticipation of the Mass. By 9:00 a.m., the celebration commenced, with the church filled to capacity, reflecting the strong participation of the community. The liturgy was well organised, with cultural groups presenting traditional songs and dances to warmly welcome the Bishop and mark the beginning of the Eucharistic celebration.

In his homily, Bishop Tendej reflected on the themes of faith, guidance, and Christian responsibility. Drawing from the Gospel of John, where Jesus is described as the “gate” through whom believers receive life and protection, he encouraged the faithful to remain steadfast in their relationship with Christ. He emphasised that true security and direction are found in listening to the voice of the Lord.

The Bishop noted that in today’s world, many competing voices can lead people away from the truth, including false teachings and misleading influences. In this context, he urged the faithful to exercise discernment and remain firmly grounded in the teachings of Christ, who alone leads to eternal life.

He further highlighted the shared mission of the Church, explaining that the role of a shepherd is not limited to priests and bishops. Parents, especially fathers, as well as community leaders, are also called to be guardians of the faith, guiding others through their example and instruction within families and communities.

Reflecting on the significance of Vocations Sunday, Bishop Tendej called on the faithful to pray earnestly for vocations, stressing the growing need for dedicated and holy priests, particularly from local communities. He reminded them that many are still waiting to be served spiritually, and that the Church continues to depend on those who generously respond to God’s call.

The faithful participated actively in the liturgy, joining in prayer and listening attentively, creating a prayerful and reflective atmosphere throughout the celebration.

The Eucharistic Celebration concluded on a hopeful note, with Bishop Tendej encouraging the faithful to deepen their faith, remain committed to the truth, and actively support the mission of the Church through prayer, service, and daily witness.
