It is better to give than to receive, Acts 20:35

Don Bosco Technical School, Gabutu celebrated the third day of its 41st Anniversary celebrations with a Medical Outreach Program on Sunday, 16 August 2026. The outreach was organized as part of the school’s commitment to supporting the health and wellbeing of the local community. Earlier, on the first day the school thanked the Lord, Our Blessed Mother and St John Bosco, through a Eucharistic celebration and a Marian Singing contest. The second day was a celebration of talent with an Open Day and a unique one act play entitled, ‘An afternoon at the Shoemakers’.

The Medical Outreach program was a five-hour program that provided an opportunity for over 500 members of the surrounding communities to access free basic health services from a dedicated team of health professionals. The six Medical teams who generously contributed their time, skills, and professional services to the community were:

  • Living Light Health Services, Kaugere

  • St. Theresa Urban Clinic, Hohola

  • Lamana Dental Clinic, Gordons

  • Youth With A Mission (YWAM) Medical Ship, Port Moresby Campus

  • Papua New Guinea University of Medicine and Health Sciences

  • Glorious Medical Centre, Badili.

Participants received free health assessments, medical consultations, dental checks, and general screenings. The event raised wellness awareness and guided people toward proper care. Eyeglasses were provided to patients who needed them. Additionally, medical experts connected directly with community members to listen to their worries and offer guidance.
