Position Vacancy: Media and Communications Officer
The Media and Communications Officer is accountable to the General Secretary of the Catholic Bishops Conference PNG/SI.
Duties of the Media and Communications Officer;
Provide and maintain the CBC communication services through media (print, audio, video, digital) already in place or to be developed.
Support the CBC to deliver on the social media strategy.
Cater for the preparation of press conferences, programs, publications, productions, etc.
Cover events and happenings in the different dioceses of PNG as required.
Any other duties assigned by immediate Manager. Essential requirements for the position
Commitment to the values and familiarity with the Catholic Church.
Perfect control of the English language in speaking and writing
Relevant media training, skills, and experience; especially on social media.
Sound knowledge of current issues at the social, political, and religious level.
Familiarity with the overall system stakeholders, Churches and faith-based organizations, PNG government departments, Pacific and other international partners.
Bachelor/Degree qualifications in Journalism and/or Media Studies.
