The Mother of Divine Shepherd Kumin Primary School of the Diocese of Mendi, in Southern Highlands Province, held a heart-warming ceremony in honour of its 131 graduating students during its 31st graduation Rite.
The graduation on Wednesday 9th December, was held in the school’s grandstand hall and had the attendance of Former Member for Mendi, Ps Isaac Joseph; Inspector Mr Panga Roman; Mark Mowai, Representative from Bom; and Rector of the Cathedral Parish, Fr Sunny Mathew. Also present to witness the occasion were public servants, staff and students, family, friends and guardians.
The Leadership Award and Grade Eight Dux were presented to Kopex Timol, an assertive and determined young man living with sight impairment.
Meanwhile a touching mass was held during the blessing of the Papai Pangi Healing Prayer Centre at Kaupena, Imbongu Parish. The mass celebrated by its Parish Priest, Fr Damien Szumski, was backed by the joyful singing of youths and parishioners.
