The staff of the Catholic Bishops Conference of PNG & SI shared mass this morning with Fr. Victor Roche SVD who was the main celebrant.
The homily today was on Faithfulness and started off with the first reading from the book of Leviticus. Fr. Victor shared his homily and shared reflections on Faithfulness with his sermon on Faithfulness reflected on Gods faithfulness to us, our faithfulness to him and our faithfulness to one another.
The four pillars of faithfulness that he imparted to the staff was Gods faithfulness, our own faithfulness to God, Faithfulness to one another, and Faithfulness in the workplace.
He shared with the staff Lamentations 3:23 and the verse "They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness", which talks on Gods faithfulness.

The gospel story was from Matthew 25:23 and is the parable of the three faithful servants. Two servants invest their money and double it, earning praise and rewards, while the third servant buries his money out of fear and is rebuked.
The parable illustrates that the faithful use of the gifts and talents God gives leads to more, while not using them results in loss.
In response to Gods faithfulness, we must be faithful people and have faithfulness even in the smallest of things. Further more in this parable Jesus said, “Well done, good and faithful servant”, to the servant who multiplied his earnings.
Faithfulness begins in the small ,mundane, hidden and day to day moments we encounter.
He shared four key points with the staff;
Keeping our prayer life alive
Honoring our commitments
Serving without complaining and
Doing what is right even when no one sees.

The third pillar that he shared was faithfulness in marriages and families. “Faithfulness is also the foundation of every human relationship. Real love is not just emotion but a commitment and by being present forgiving quickly , keeping to our promises and growing together and not apart" shared Fr. Victor.
The final message he gave to the staff was faithfulness in the workplace. He encouraged the staff to be faithful in their daily tasks and be productive , have trust and to be team players which will shape the future of CBC PNG & SI as an organization.
Staff shared Eucharist with Fr. Roche that ended with songs and beautiful guitar acoustics from three MSC sisters.
Fr. Victor will depart for India tomorrow after his short visit in the country. Fr. Victor Roche SVD shared a remarkable 44 years serving as a SVD Missionary in Papua New Guinea and retired late last year , leaving for our shores for India.
