From Thursday 26 June to 29 June, Catholic students from three universities and two technical colleges in Papua New Guinea gathered for a combined union under the theme: “In Union We Journey Together in Faith as Ambassadors of Hope.”

The event marked the second union, this time hosted by the Papua New Guinea University of Technology (UNITECH). The first union had been hosted by Divine Word University (DWU). Participating institutions included: University of Technology (UOT) - the host, University of Goroka (UOG), Divine Word University (DWU), Lae Technical College and Goroka Technical College (GOTEC).
With the support of these institutions, students were able to enjoy fellowship and spiritual accompaniment. Discussions and sharing sessions centered around the main theme, emphasizing the role of faith and unity in building hope among young people.
Sister Rose Akem, FSM, a religious sister currently studying at UOG, took part in the union alongside her fellow students. In addition, other religious students Sr.Clare Kamapun FSM,other Religious & Priests and staff from DWU also joined the gathering. All shared a common vision: the youth and students are in urgent need of transformation and support for the future.
When given the opportunity, they encourage each other, and guide each other to walk in the right direction.
A heartfelt thank you goes to all the Catholic Student leaders, students, staff, Priests and Religious who participated in this event.
Together, we can make a difference in the lives of young people and our fellow students in PNG.
