The 60th Diamond Jubilee of Marianville Catholic Secondary School featured a deeply meaningful Mass celebration on the 31st of May, 2026, which was the spiritual heart of the event. The Mass celebration was led by Archbishop Rochus Josef Tatamai, MSC, Archbishop of Rabaul Diocese.

This Eucharistic celebration not only honored six decades of faith and community but also reaffirmed the school’s commitment to Catholic values and spiritual formation. Held with reverence on Holy Trinity Sunday, the Mass beautifully underscored the school’s theme, “Showing God’s Love through Mary, Then, Now, and Forever,” highlighting Mary’s role as a model of faith and steadfastness.

During the Mass, prayers and reflections centered on Jesus Christ as the Good Shepherd, the eternal Word, and the Son of the Father, whose incarnation and sacrifice offer redemption and the promise of adoption into God’s family. The sacrament of baptism and confirmation were celebrated as pivotal moments in embracing God’s divine love, inspiring the Marianville community to live lives marked by faith, integrity, and service.

Archbishop Rochus made a poignant call for vocations during the Mass, inviting attendees, especially the younger generation, to consider the path of dedicated service exemplified by the Sisters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart.

The Sisters’ life of chastity, poverty, and obedience was held up as a powerful witness to self-giving love and missionary spirit, urging young women to reflect on the profound impact of religious vocations. The call emphasized that embracing such a vocation is a courageous response to God’s invitation to “launch into the deep,” following Jesus more closely through lives of sacrifice and leadership in faith.

This spiritual invitation resonated as both a challenge and an inspiration, reminding the community of the vital role vocations play in sustaining the school’s mission and nurturing future generations. The Mass thus became a sacred moment for reflection on personal calling, unity in faith, and the transformative power of dedicating one’s life to God’s service, ensuring that Marianville’s legacy of faith, hope, and love will continue to flourish.
