Sangurap, Wabag: “I stand here today as the Archbishop of the Metropolitan See of the PNG Highlands Region and on behalf of my brother bishops and our people: Bishop Donald Lippert OFM Cap, Bishop Paul Sundu of Kundiawa and Bishop Walenty Gryk SVD from Goroka to congratulate Bishop Justin Ain Soongie on his Installation as the third Bishop of Wabag Diocese”

These were the words of His Grace Archbishop Clement Papa on Thursday August 21, 2025 at Sangurap, Wabag.


Archbishop Papa congratulated Bishop Soongie and welcomed him to collaborate with them for the betterment of the Catholic Church in the PNG Highlands region.


“The Catholic Church in the PNG Highlands region is a young church but is still going strong with God’s grace.”


He concluded his message by saying that the Highlands region is a land of diverse cultures and traditions, and this was seen during the colourful processions during the installation of Bishop Soongie, and congratulated the people of Wabag Diocese for welcoming their new Shepherd.
