Pray the Rosary Daily

Parishioners of St. Charles Lwanga Catholic Parish at Gerehu in Port Moresby were honoured to welcome Bishop Ronald Vunuvung of the Diocese of Kavieng and Manus, who led the second Holy Mass on Sunday, April 26, 2026.
The mass commenced at 9:00am and drew Catholic faithful from across the Gerehu suburban communities to gather in unity and worship in Christ.
During his sermon, Bishop Ronald emphasized the importance and power of prayer, encouraging Catholic individuals and families to make praying the Holy Rosary a daily practice.
“As Catholics, we must all have a rosary in our possession and we must learn to pray daily with the Holy Rosary,” Bishop Ronald said.
In his homily, Bishop Ronald also urged parishioners to live Christ-like lives in all their decisions and actions. He reminded the congregation that every individual has a purpose to fulfil, just as Jesus Christ lived a purposeful and fulfilled life.
“We have to turn back to the ways of Christ,” he said.
The Gospel reading for the mass was taken from John 10:1-10, focusing on Jesus as the Good Shepherd. Bishop Ronald encouraged parishioners to follow the example of Christ by guiding others in faith and returning to the importance of prayer through the rosary.
“When it seems that life is not going your way, pick up your rosary and pray. When Jesus was not at His utmost best, He prayed. We must follow in His footsteps,” Bishop Ronald encouraged.
He further advised that prayer brings people closer to God and leads them toward godly deeds and a stronger spiritual life.
