Wabag: Pompaus parish in the Diocese of Wabag officially farewelled their parish priest, Fr. Benjamin Seda SVD after 10 years of faithful service on 4th January 2022.
Fr. Benjamin Seda SVD was one of the young missionaries who came to Enga in 2007. After spending a year, he was sent to Tsikiro Parish. He served as a Parish Priest in Tsikiro Sacred Heart Parish for four years (2008-2012).
In 2012 he was posted to Pompaus Parish as Parish priest and served for a decade.
In his ten years terms, he structured the life of Pompaus Parish physically, spiritually, and socially. To name a few in terms of social development, he structured the Parish kitchen, dining hall, grotto, health center, sister's convent and renovation of the church.
Youth and elders farewelled him with broken hearts and tears. He was indeed a light in their lives. They all thanked him in cash and kind. Many commented that he is someone who can inspire and change them.
In his closing remarks, he said he is just a tool giving and doing what best he can to serve God. He adds all honor and glory goes to God for his goodness and blessings. He urged the parishioners to cooperate with his successor and take good care of the services within the parish vicinity.
He left an unending footprint that cannot be erased and eroded.
