Most Rev. Bishop Jacob Aba S.M was Ordained as the new Bishop of Auki.

The Catholic Bishops Conference of Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands congratulate Most Rev Jacob Aba S.M , Bishop of Auki, as he is ordained as the New Bishop on Saturday, 24th of January 2026 at St. Augustine Cathedral, Auki, Malaita province.

The sacred celebration was honoured by the presence of His Excellency the Most Reverend Apostolic Nuncio to Papua New Guinea & Solomon Islands, Maurizio Bravi, Vice President of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of PNG/SI Bishop Rozario Menezes S.M.M, General Secretary of the CBC PNGSI, Fr. Lawrence Arockiaraj, Archbishop Christopher Cardone OP of Honiara Archdiocese, His Lordship Bishop John Bosco SM of Vanuatu, His Lordship Bishop Peter Houhou of Gizo, and Emeritus Bishop Luciano Capelli, together with clergy, religious, and the faithful.

As His Rev. Bishop Aba begins his episcopal ministry within the Diocese of St.Augustine Cathedral, may the good Lord grant that Bishop Aba is filled with the Lord's wisdom and humility as he serves as the shepherd for the St. Augustine Diocese community, but for the whole church.
