FSM Sister celebrates Silver Jubilee

Mendi: A faithful servant from the congregation of the Franciscan Sisters of Mary (FSM) celebrated 25 years of Religious life on August 1, 2025.

Hailing from Sinzpai Parish in the Archdiocese of Mount Hagen, Sr Christina Waropa FSM joined the Franciscan Sisters of Mary (FSM) in August 1, 2000.

Parishioners of St Mary, in Kagua, Diocese of Mendi joined by other FSM sisters and consecrated religious men and women gathered in joyful spirits to celebrate Sr Christina's milestone with a Eucharistic thanks giving mass for her life and service.

Throughout her years as a Franciscan Sister, she has served in various parishes in Mendi and Hela, spending much of her time at St. Mary’s Parish, where her Jubilee celebration took place.

The main celebrant for the event was Bishop Donald Lippert OFM Cap, the local ordinary of the Diocese. His heartfelt homily resonated deeply, highlighting the significance of the special occasion for Sr. Christina and all those in attendance. 

We thank God for Sr. Christina's dedication in her vocation and extend our heartfelt congratulations on her Jubilee. May God continue to bestow His grace upon her in the years ahead.
