First Holy Communion coincides with Solemnity of Pentecost

Kerema: The rhythmic sound of the guitar and dancing, angelic voices and joyous atmosphere filled the St. Vincent de Paul Terapo Parish as the Parishioners and visitors witnessed the First Holy Communion during the Pentecost on Sunday June 09th, 2025.

Main celebrant, Parish Priest Fr. Eugene Karava, was escorted by the First Holy Communion Candidates in a procession to open the Holy Eucharistic celebration. The celebrations began with a song entitled: Mipla bringim ol yangpla lo yu, O’ Lord with the theme `Lord send out your spirit and renew the face of the earth’.
Reflecting on the Gospel, in his homily, Fr. Eugene Karava encouraged the Parishioners of Terapo to live a life of peace which God has shown us. `The words that came out of the mouth of Jesus `peace be with you’.
The candidates received the body and blood of Christ for the first time with courage and humble hearts, with a total of 12 students and young adults from St. Anthony, Malalaua small Christian community (SCC).
The entire liturgical celebration was well prepared by St. Anthony Choir group with the procession dances that brought joyful voices packed with emotion and happiness to the several people who participated during the Mass.Also at the celebration were families of the candidates.
Catechist Andrew Lari, expressed his joy seeing the candidates receiving the First Holy communion and thanked their parents for the commitment,
ensuring they were present for sessions every Saturday.
