Don Bosco Kokopo celebrates Community Day

On the occasion of the solemnity of St. Joseph, Husband of Mary, Don Bosco Kokopo held its yearly activity of Community Day on Friday, 19th March.

This day is always organized with the main objective of bringing the entire Educative Pastoral Community together under the leadership of the Rector who is the centre of unity in the school.

Fr. Moise Paluku, SDB, Rector celebrated the Holy Eucharist in honour of St. Joseph and had the participation of Salesian sisters who are based in Kokopo and the Sacred Heart Seminary Rapolo.

The community day had the March Past, war cries, mascots, and carnival sports while Fr. Oscar who is the formator was the judge during the festive events.

Speaking to the organizing committee, Ms. Roselyn Taluesina shared that it was a satisfying day where truly the young exposed what they are capable of.

The sports master, Mr. Michael Tuka said, “It is a blessing that we concluded a beautiful day. My fear was to have someone collapse under the hot sun, but Don Bosco was watching his sons from above, protecting them from any harm. Thanks to our Salesians for their great support and active presence to make sure that the program was safe.”

The Community day activities closed with the announcement of the early holiday and an invitation from the principal, Mr. Buanga to all students to keep safe during the four weeks. All were filled with a sense of gratitude for the expereicne.

The day concluded with lunch and great joy and happiness was transparent on the faces of the students.
