Alexishafen, Madang: The Bishops concluded day two of their Annual General Meeting on a high note with a special guest for the day on Wednesday April 30, 2025.

The day began with the Bishops’ Personal Lauds followed by a recollection that had Fr Roshan Anthony Pillai OFM Cap facilitate two sessions: Renewing Hope in the Jubilee Year and Mission and Ministry to the Youth with renewed hope.
The day of recollection concluded after lunch with confession and adoration before the Eucharistic Celebration that had His Grace Archbishop Rochus Tatamai MSC from Rabaul Archdiocese as the main celebrant. Joining him as concelebrants were His Lordship Bishop John Bosco Auram from Kimbe Diocese and His Lordship Bishop Dariusz Kaluza MSF from Bougainville Diocese.
A beautiful homily to end the recollection was given by Fr Roshan highlighting the need to listen to the young people and make them feel seen and heard.
“The three most common questions I get asked by young people are: Is there a God? If there is a God, then why is there so much suffering? Which religion/denomination is the true religion/denomination of God?”
He said that when young people’s questions are not answered, they tend to seek answers themselves; thus, some end up in the mountains of Tibet seeking answers in the monasteries while most tend to indulge in their addictions and cause problems in the society.
He concluded his homily by encouraging all pastors, shepherds and guardians in the jubilee year to continue their duty in their mission and ministry to the Youth with renewed hope.
“When we answer our young people’s questions, that’s when they stop searching for answers and validation. Let us pray that in this Jubilee Year, we can journey in communion with the youth in hope”.
The Eucharistic celebration was followed by a farewell dinner for Fr Roshan. Chairperson of the day His Lordship Bishop Dariusz Kaluza MSF thanked him for facilitating the inspiring sessions and gave him a token of appreciation on behalf of all the Bishops.
