The day began with a Eucharistic celebration that had His Lordship Bishop Francis Meli from Vanimo Diocese as the main celebrant. Joining him were His Lordship bishop Rozario Menezes SMM, the Vice President of the Catholic Bishops Conference of PNGSI and Bishop of Lae and His Grace Archbishop Anton Bal from Madang as concelebrants.

On the feast of Saints Philip and James, Bishop Francis reflected on God’s reassurance of his presence with us as the way, the truth and the life.

“In the last few days, we have been hearing previous speakers reflecting on the youth and as our theme states, we must journey in communion with the youth in hope, thus, as pastors, it is our duty to accompany our young people and help them to seek the way, the truth and the light through Christ”.

Sessions on Right Relationship in Ministry, the Papal Visit Report and the Vangeke Course 2025 followed after.

The day ended with a quiet dinner and a relaxing evening for the Bishops to plan their visits to the respective parishes organized by the hosting Archdiocese.
