Bishop Donald Lippert, OFM Cap., the keynote speaker for the ceremony, was warmly welcomed to Koroba by traditional Huli drummers and dancers—an honour symbolizing unity, respect, and the deep cultural roots of the region. The bishop described the occasion as a moment of profound joy and significance not only for the school but for the entire parish community.

“The joy of these graduates, and the pride shining in the faces of their parents and teachers, is truly inspiring,” Bishop Lippert said during his address. “This school stands as a beacon of hope, and today’s achievements prove what is possible when a community comes together with faith, determination, and love for its young people.”

The ceremony was attended by local leaders, church representatives, families, and students who gathered to celebrate the pioneering cohort. Principal Mr. Raymond Steven was commended for his leadership and dedication in steering the young institution to this historic moment. Parish priest Fr. Celestine, CST, was also acknowledged for his tireless pastoral support to both the school and the surrounding community.

For the Koroba region—often challenged by remoteness and limited opportunities—the first Grade 12 graduation is a testament to perseverance and the transformative power of education. Many parents expressed deep pride in witnessing their children reach this landmark, while teachers reflected on the years of hard work that made the celebration possible.

Bishop Lippert encouraged the graduates to carry forward the values instilled in them and to become catalysts for peace, development, and unity in Hela Province and beyond.

“Your journey does not end today,” he told the students. “Go forward with courage. Go forward with faith. And remember always the community that has lifted you to this moment,” The Bishop encouraged the graduates to consider what a great difference just one person could make in the world… and that each of them can be an agent of positive change.

Congratulations to the inaugural graduates and the entire Koroba community.
