April 26 — The parish of St. John the Apostle Tokarara was filled with joy and spiritual fervor as His Excellency Bishop Dariusz Kaluza, MSF (Bishop of the Diocese of Buka), presided over a lively Eucharistic celebration on Sunday 26th April.

The liturgical service was marked by a spirited display of singing, with the parish choir leading the congregation in hymns that echoed the deep devotion of the local church. Parishioners actively participated in prayers, creating an atmosphere of unity, reverence, and enthusiasm that reflected the rich liturgical life of the community.
In his homily, Bishop Dariusz focused on the theme of vocation—both within the individual and the larger Church. He encouraged the faithful to seek divine guidance through persistent prayer, emphasizing that understanding one’s vocation is essential for living a meaningful Christian life.
“Vocation is a calling from the Lord, and it is in the church where many faithful have helped shape my own journey,” he shared, expressing gratitude for the community that nurtures spiritual growth.
The Bishop reflected on his personal experience, urging Christians to deepen their devotion to the Eucharist as a vital step toward embracing authentic Christian living. He explained that the Eucharist is not just a ritual but a sacred encounter with Christ that sustains and guides believers in their spiritual journey.

“Living faithfully and freely means remaining vigilant, like sheep listening for the Shepherd’s call,” he said, emphasizing the importance of discernment and attentiveness to God’s voice.
Bishop Dariusz’s visit and the celebration served as a reminder of the importance of nurturing one’s vocation and strengthening one’s relationship with God through prayer and active participation in the sacraments.
The congregation left inspired to live with fidelity, openness, and alertness to the Lord’s calling, embodying the church’s mission to be faithful stewards of their faith. This vibrant celebration illustrated the enduring faith and unity of the local church, reaffirming its vital role in the spiritual lives of its members among the broader pastoral missions across the region.
