Archbishop Anton Bal thanks everyone for their support in hosting 66th Annual General Meeting of the Bishops

Alexishafen, Madang: “As the Archbishop of Madang, the hosting Diocese of the 66th Annual General Meeting of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands, I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed one way or another towards the success of this AGM”

These were the words of His Grace Archbishop Anton Bal during the Annual General Meeting Press Conference on Thursday May 8, 2025.
Archbishop Bal said he was thankful to the organizing committee on the ground comprising of different sub – committees logistics, finance, welfare and others for ensuring all preparations went well.
He also made mention of Fr Marek Kondrat for being the contact person on the ground in the preparation for the AGM.
“We also extend our gratitude to the different parishes and the parish priests around Madang and Rempi areas where our Bishops went to for mass on Sunday. They truly enjoyed their time with the people, just as the people were blessed to have the Bishops with them”.
He also thanked Fr George Ryfa SVD and his hardworking team at the Alexishafen Conference Centre for their tireless efforts and making sure that the Bishops were well – taken care of and felt at home.
He concluded by thanking Catholic faithful and people of goodwill who have been praying for the success of the AGM.
