36 receive Sacrament of Baptism on Feast of Ascension

Kerema: `We experience Jesus’ Ascension into Heaven, leaving his disciples behind, confirming that he will go and send a helper to accompany them to accomplish their ministries, even in difficult moments.’’

This was the opening message shared by Parish Priest Fr. Eugene Karava at the celebration of the Solemnity of the Ascension of Jesus and World Communication Day on Sunday June 1, 2025.

The Day also had 36 candidates of St Vincent de Paul Terapo Parish in Kerema Diocese receive the Sacrament of Baptism.

The Catechists of the St. Anthony Malalaua and St. Vincent de Paul spent their time preparing the parents and godparents for the milestone event that kickstarts journey of the candidates in their Catholic faith.

Out of the 36 candidates, 9 come from St. Anthony Parish and 27 come from St. Vincent de Paul Parish.
