Port Moresby: The Daughters of Mary Immaculate Congregation have expressed great satisfaction with their October outreach programs.
This month was a bit special because the congregation extended its outreach programs to the United Church Mothers’ group from Pari village. The mothers were introduced to the DMI Development Program that has been successfully implemented in various settlements in Port Moresby and had their group registered in the DMI Association to implement the development program in Pari.
Other programs for the month include;
1. Regular savings meetings for the old Self Help Groups.
2. Trainings on Book Keeping and Catering
3. Health and wellbeing.
4. Prison visit to women in Bomana with mothers from the Self Help Groups from Talai and Gorobe communities. Apart from the group games, the sisters also provided some counselling to the women followed by small motivational talks.
5. Children’s follow up programs.
Apart from the regular programs, the congregation also gave out bibles and rosaries to families and mothers in the women’s groups as well as those in prison and also participated in the Mission Sunday Expo in St Joseph Boroko to expose their key activities for the public to know more.
